Welcome to Limb and Leaf
I'm Travis Cole, a lifelong Northern Michigan native and ISA Certified Arborist serving Harbor Springs and the surrounding area. Since 1999, I've been working with trees, and honestly, I can't imagine doing anything else. At Limb and Leaf, it's pretty simple: I focus on sustainable, low-impact tree care that's good for your trees, your property, and our Northern Michigan environment. Every pruning job, consultation, and maintenance plan is about doing things the right way — with knowledge, experience, and respect for what really matters.
My Story
I got my start in professional tree care back in 1999, and over the years, I've built my approach around one core idea: caring for trees means caring for the environment and the community that depends on them. As an ISA Certified Arborist, I work to make sure every tree gets what it needs to thrive safely and beautifully for the long haul.
There's an old saying about tattoos, "cheap work isn't good, and good work isn't cheap", and I think that applies to just about everything worth doing, including tree care. I take pride in doing things right, using the knowledge and experience I've built over two decades to get lasting results you can count on.
When I'm not out in the field, you'll usually find me with my wife and two kids, or enjoying everything Northern Michigan has to offer — bicycling, skiing, photography, or unwinding with a good LEGO build (my creative outlet when I'm not among the trees). My goal isn't just to work on trees. It's to help people in Harbor Springs and beyond enjoy safe, healthy, resilient trees for years to come.

TCIA Aerial Rescue Certified

The TCIA Aerial Rescue Certification is an industry-recognized credential that prepares arborists to respond quickly and safely during emergency situations in the canopy, teaching them how to assess hazards, manage the scene, communicate effectively, and perform multiple rescue techniques using ropes, climbing systems, and aerial lift equipment. The training focuses on real-world scenarios where a climber becomes injured or unable to descend, emphasizing calm decision-making, low-impact movement through the tree, and adaptability to different setups and tree structures. Earning this certification demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and professionalism, and for tree care companies it shows clients that crews are trained, prepared, and capable of handling unexpected situations with confidence.
